Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement and Support
  • Engage with academic, pharmaceutical, and diagnostic customers to understand their scientific challenges and research objectives.
  • Provide expert advice and technical support to customers during the pre-sales phase to demonstrate the capabilities and potential applications of our single molecule instruments.
  • Collaborate with customers to identify the most suitable instrument configurations and experimental setups for their specific research needs.
Product Demonstrations and Training
  • Conduct live demonstrations and virtual workshops to showcase the functionalities and features of our instruments, highlighting their advantages over traditional methods.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training sessions to users, enabling them to effectively operate the instruments and interpret experimental data.
Product Quality Control and Installation
  • Participate in the assembly of instruments, following detailed procedures and collaborating with the engineering team to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.
  • Conduct thorough testing and quality control checks on fully assembled instruments to validate their performance, accuracy, and adherence to established standards before they are ready for shipment.
  • Execute instrument installations at customer facilities, meticulously aligning lasers and optical components to guarantee optimal system performance.
Application Development and Optimisation
  • Design and execute experiments to develop innovative applications of single molecule technologies for academic and pharmaceutical research
  • Optimise existing applications, methodologies, and protocols to ensure maximum data quality and accuracy.
Customer Feedback and Collaboration
  • Gather valuable feedback from customers and communicate it to the R&D and Product Development teams to influence future product enhancements and advancements.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to test and validate new product prototypes and features based on real-world customer use cases.
Scientific Content Creation
  • Produce technical documents, application notes, and scientific publications showcasing the capabilities and utility of our instruments for various research fields.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to create compelling content for promotional materials, conferences, and webinars.
  • Monitor industry trends, scientific advancements, and competitor activities in the field of single molecule analysis to identify potential areas of growth and product diversification for the company.
Conference Attendance and Presentations
  • Represent Exciting Instruments at scientific conferences, workshops, and symposia, delivering presentations on our technology and its applications.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • MSc or PhD in Biophysics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related area
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively convey complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrable track record of scientific publications and conference presentations
  • Proven experience in designing and executing high-quality experiments

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with single molecule Förster resonance energy transfer (smFRET), Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS), and Fluorescence Cross-Correlation Spectroscopy (FCCS)
  • Prior experience in an application support or customer-facing role
