Role Overview

As an Application Scientist at Exciting Instruments, you’ll be at the heart of our mission, collaborating with customers to develop solutions that push the boundaries of single-molecule research. You’ll take on diverse challenges, driving innovation in assay development, delivering exceptional support, and shaping the next generation of our cutting-edge products.

Key Responsibilities

Application/Assay Development and Optimization

  • Design and execute experiments that pioneer new applications for single-molecule technologies in academic and pharmaceutical research.
  • Optimize methodologies and protocols to deliver high-quality, accurate results.
  • Develop assays into scalable, ready-to-use products and kits.

Product Quality Control

  • Conduct rigorous testing and quality control to ensure product performance, precision, and reliability.

Scientific Content Creation

  • Collaborate with our Scientific and Marketing teams to produce engaging content for promotional materials, conferences, and webinars.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • PhD in Biophysics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in assay development and optimization, in either academic or industrial settings.
  • Proven ability to design and execute complex, high-quality experiments.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • A proven track record of driving projects to achieve milestones.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Exceptional communication skills to articulate complex scientific concepts clearly.
  • Demonstrable success in publishing scientific papers and presenting at conferences.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with advanced single-molecule techniques like smFRET, FCS, and FCCS.
  • Hands-on experience with single-molecule or biophysical methods.
  • Expertise working with nucleic acids, proteins, viruses, or antibodies.
