Role Overview
As a Software Engineer at Exciting Instruments, you’ll join a small, interdisciplinary team working at the cutting edge of scientific instrumentation, translating complex experimental workflows into easy to use software tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain performant desktop applications for scientific users
- Collaborate closely with scientists and hardware engineers
- Design clean, intutive
- User-Focused Design: Combine scientific rigor with intuitive, fast, and user-friendly software to deliver the best possible experience.
Current Tech Stack
- Desktop Applications: C++, Qt, Python, Windows
- Web Applications: VueJS, ASP.NET, Python, MSSQL, Azure
Essential Skills and Experience
- A BSc in Computer Science or a related field
- Proven ability to deliver solutions in fast-paced commercial settings, balancing quality and speed
- Deep understanding of software development and delivery best practices
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience working at a startup or spinout
- Proficiency in web development
- Experience in hardware automation (bonus points for experience with microscopes or spectrometers!)
